YES, IT IS
YES, IT IS is a photographic documentary essay exploring the complexities of care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
This project follows families across North Carolina as they navigate the fragile first weeks and months of their newborns’ lives. Through an intimate documentary lens, the work captures parents waiting, hoping, and caring at the bedside while physicians, nurses, and health providers help make the uncertainty of the NICU bearable.
Despite prematurity, illness, and the many barriers that can shape the beginning of life, YES, IT IS is ultimately a portrait of love under pressure, a celebration of childbirth, and the extraordinary bond between parents and their children.
